Live On Arrival presents twenty-one concert and festival recordings from notable Bay Area bluegrass and old time bands. Most have never been released; all feature the excitement and power typical of live recordings, and demonstrate the depth and breath of talent in our region. The music is again made by beloved musical veterans, the next generation of stars, and representatives of our thriving club scene. Several vintage recordings are included, but most of the other performances are from the past few years. The Nevada County Fairgrounds (Grass Valley) and Freight & Salvage (Berkeley) were each the site of a half-dozen recordings; other venues range from the Parkfield to the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festivals; Osaka, Japan to Moncton, New Brunswick; Sam’s BBQ to the Noe Valley Ministry, the Redwood Bluegrass church to Winters Tavern.

The music is again made by beloved musical veterans, the next generation of stars, and representatives of our thriving club scene. Several vintage recordings are included, but most of the other performances are from the past few years. The Nevada County Fairgrounds (Grass Valley) and Freight & Salvage (Berkeley) were each the site of a half-dozen recordings; other venues range from the Parkfield to the Grey Fox Bluegrass Festivals; Osaka, Japan to Moncton, New Brunswick; Sam’s BBQ to the Noe Valley Ministry, the Redwood Bluegrass church to Winters Tavern.
